Financial Controller
Munster Bovine is Ireland’s market leader in cattle breeding, and herd management services. We offer a complete and integrated range of cattle breeding, milk recording, fertility and performance enhancing services for herd owners. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our dynamic team on a Specific purpose Contract for 16 months.
Location- Mallow, Co. Cork
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with regulatory guidelines and accounting standards.
- Analyse financial data and present financial reports to management and to parent shareholder as required, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare & Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Report and present financial performance and reports to the board and audit and risk committee.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop annual operating budgets in collaboration with department heads, providing guidance and support throughout the budgeting process.
- Monitor performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare financial forecasts and projections to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
3. Financial Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to assess business performance, profitability, and cash flow.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the financial data, offering insights to drive business growth and efficiency.
4. Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate financial risks and safeguard company assets.
- Collaborate with external and internal auditors and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
5. Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
6. Payroll and Tax Compliance:
- Manage the payroll systems, process all monthly payroll and oversee weekly payroll processing.
- Report and liaise with pension providers on a monthly and annual basis.
Requirements:
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- ACCA, ACA, CPA or CIMA qualification.
- 3+ years post qualification experience working in a busy Finance Department.
- Computerised Payroll System experience an advantage.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Proven experience (3+ years post qualification) in a financial management role, with a track record of success in financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred.
